Pain into the heel and arch of your foot that typically arises from an initial injury or repetitive stress over time.

Causes:

Poor foot postures or high arches, incorrect footwear, tight calf/Achilles, overuse injuries i.e. “fitness kick”.

Signs & Symptoms:

Pain and inflammation from across the sole of the foot, usually worse following exercise or prolonged standing.



Treatment:

PRICE initially followed up with treatment and a progressive exercise program overseen by your physiotherapist.

Prognosis:

Recovery can be lengthy if left un-treated. Exercises, stretches and orthotics inserts can help with recovery. Typical recovery spans 6 to 8 weeks with consistent rehabilitation and avoidance of aggravating activities.
