RECOGNISING THE RISK
What Gets People Hurt – and Why It’s Often Not Obvious
Most workplace injuries don’t start with a single incident. They build quietly – through habits, pressures and physical demands that accumulate over months or years until the body simply can’t absorb any more. Recognising these patterns early is the first step to avoiding a serious injury.
Poor Posture
Hours on a worksite in awkward positions — our muscles and joints simply weren’t designed to sustain that kind of load day after day.
Fatigue
Tired bodies take shortcuts. Reaction times slow, movement patterns change, and the risk of both acute injury and gradual overuse climbs significantly.
Repetitive Tasks
The same motion, day after day creates cumulative strain that rarely announces itself until it is well advanced.
Cutting Corners
Skipping a stretch, ignoring a niggle, not taking a break – small habits that quietly add up over time.
Workload Spikes
Seasonal or project-driven surges in physical demand are a common trigger for soft tissue injury.
Delayed Reporting
Waiting to see if it gets better is one of the most common reasons.
PREVENTION
Stopping Injuries Before They Start
The most effective intervention is the one that happens before the injury. Our physiotherapists work with businesses and individuals at two key points in the employment lifecycle.
Pre-Employment Screening & Functional Assessments
Placing the right person in the right role from day one is one of the most effective ways to reduce workplace injury.
• Role-specific assessments matched to the physical demands of the position
• Strength, mobility and endurance testing relevant to job requirements
• Identification of pre-existing factors that may affect performance or safety
• Written reports to support hiring decisions and a documented baseline for future reference
Ongoing Workplace Injury Prevention
Core works with employers to identify and address musculoskeletal risks before they become injuries or claims. Programs are tailored to your industry and workforce — practical, proportionate and straightforward to implement.
• Workplace assessments and physical task analysis
• Team-based musculoskeletal screening programs
• Injury prevention education — load management, posture and early warning signs
• Job-specific conditioning and strength advice

Early Intervention
That Niggle Is Telling You Something
Early intervention matters. The sooner an injury is properly assessed and treated, the better the outcome – for the worker and the workplace. Our team aims to see you as quickly as possible, at our clinic or on your site, and will provide a clear diagnosis, modified duties advice and direct communication to your employer or GP from the very first appointment.
WHEN INJURY OCCURS
Navigating WorkCover – and Beyond
Not every workplace injury goes through WorkCover.
Whether you are self-managing your recovery or navigating a return-to-work privately, we provide the same thorough assessment, structured rehabilitation and coordinated communication with your employer and treating doctor.
WorkCover Patients
Our team has extensive experience managing WorkCover Qld and NSW claims. We liaise directly with your insurer, GP and employer — handling the administrative complexity so you can focus on recovering. Eligible appointments are billed directly to the insurer with no upfront cost to the worker.
Self-Employed Workers
When you’re self-employed, income stops the moment you do. We understand that pressure. We fast-track your assessment, work with your GP and insurer where applicable, and build a return-to-work plan around getting you back to your work as safely and quickly as possible.
